Hello, I am 27 years old female who is suffering from bronchitis. I would like to know everything about it. Treatment, prognosis, everything interests me. I really can't stand that coughing. It is getting unbearable. Tell me how much does it last. Sorry to waste your time, but I really would like to hear your answers as soon as possible.

Hi there, bronchitis is an obstructive pulmonary disorder characterized by inflammation of the bronchi of the lungs. I can tell you that your coughing may last from several weeks to few months. This is because bronchial tubes heal really slowly. Acute bronchitis lasts around 10 days. In most cases bronchitis is caused by virus. Antibiotics are used in treatment of this type of bronchitis. Sometimes bronchitis is caused by bacteria.
