brown discharge

Hello. My period is 6 days late, and for three days ive had a brown discharge. This only accures after i go to the bathroom. I took a pregnancy test result negative. Is there anything you could tell me about whats happening?

I can’t tell you why your period is late, that is for sure and I am almost positive that your pregnancy results are correct because by the 6th day after your period was about to come a home pregnancy test should be able to tell if you are pregnant or not.

However, I can assure you that brown discharge before period is common and it indicates that your period is approaching. If it doesn’t arrive for another week or so, you may visit a gynecologist and have your period induced, although I don’t think this is necessary.

There are many things that could interfere with your periods, I even heard that a common cold can do so, so I honestly think there’s nothing wrong. However, if something similar happens for three cycles in a row, then you should see your gynecologist about it.
