burning, itching, soreness vagina

i jus went to the doctor last week for a follow up to surgery and it was fine...i was told my vagina healed up just fine. that day i received a prescription for birth control pills...a few days ago i experienced itching inside the lips of my vagina, they are also somewhat swollen. yesterday when i urinated it burned and when i used my feminie wash in the shower it burned. i find that wearing underwear is uncomfortable, the rubbing sensation on my vagina is irritating. my jeans also bother me. i dont understand what is wrong, can someone please help me?????????????
