burning and gaslike pains in abdomen

I took my self to the ER a couple weeks ago with severe under breast bone chest pains that also sprouted out into my abodmen. The doctor did an EKG, took chest x-rays, a urine test and many blood tests. It turned out that my EKG was fine, I had a UTI, and he said its possible that I have an ulcer. He told me to take Prilosec-OTC and see a doctor in a few weeks. I've been taking prilosec_OTC for about 5 days now and occasional Malox but neither seem to be helping. This pain feels like gas pains yet I am not able to release anything. I feel bloated and a dull pain under my breast-bone and above the naval area. I have had mixed regular bowels with diarreah starting today. Yes after reading many symptoms of stomach diseases on the internet I am going into a panic. If I had a stomach disease (pancreatis, or cancer, etc) would the ER doctor have found any signs in my blood test or xrays?
