burning,tingling,and swelling in fingers on dominent hand

My father has had burning,tingling and swelling in his rt. 2nd-5th fingers. He went to a dr. and was diagnosed with tendonitis. He took celebrex and painkillers for 2wks and is still have same problems. He has gained mobility of his ring and pinky fingers but still experiencing symptoms with the index and middle fingers. His doctor has gave him another round of celebrex to take but its not helping much. Could this be anything other than tendonitis in his hand or wrist???
