I have a question. I have 2 kids and have been through this before but boy am I confused. I went off my birth control pill in December and had 2 normal cycles. Okay my LMP started 2-8-06 and I am not regular so I have no idea the length of cycle. was between 28 and 31 days in Dec and Jan, so I did a home test Saturday March 4th. came up negative, and then tested again on Thursday march 9th and it was + so now I should be in my 6th week right??
Okay but here is where I am confused, I had spotting starting Sunday march 19th, some red, mostly pink and brownish, and I went to the dr and they drew blood and will have results for me next week, but I had an ultra sound too and it said that the yolk sac is where it should be and the baby-to-be looks like it is 4 weeks.
I have miscarried before and am very worried.
My question is this. could I have gotten pregnant that first week of March and everything be okay still? Is ovulation ALWAYS that accurate, especially if I am not regular and the ultra sound is give or take a week?
I know that there is no way to know for sure but with my numbers so screwy and spotting I am just wondering if numbers can be that far off?
Thanks~Susie |

From what I’ve been reading, anything is possible with ovulation, pregnancy and hormones. Considering, you are very irregular, I suppose you never can tell when your ovulation would occur.
However, if we say that you had your last period on 02-08 and your cycle lasted, lets say, 30 days ( you said last cycle was 28-31), then your ovulation would be around the 22nd of February. ( You subtract 15 days from your next period date). IF ovulation and fertilization occurred somewhere around the 22 nd, this would mean that you were 4 weeks pregnant on the 22nd, right?
Now, I can’t say what the spotting on the 19th it was, I suppose your gyno will tell. Considering you had miscarriages before, you should talk to your gynecologist and try to determine a possible reason of miscarriages and see if there is a way to prevent them.
Good luck! |

Posted: 02/20/07 - 07:29 Post subject: I am trying to conceive but nothing is happening... |
|
|
| I have been trying to conceive for the past 3 months. I am a 26 day cycle and my last period was 02/29/07 and lasted 5 days. I expected that I would ovulate on day 12-14. I don't usually have much discharge so it is difficult for me to tell when am ovulating. Is my calculation wrong or right and if it is right, can i be pregnant and just waiting to miss my period? |
