Hi, I am a twenty four years old woman. I am experiencing situations that are, to say the least, embarrassing for me. I sweat a lot. This occurs whenever I have a business meeting. The stress gets the best of me. What bothers me the most, are the sweaty marks on clothes in the area of the armpit. I have decided to put a stop to this. I would like you to tell me if sweat can be prevented?

Hi, sweating is a normal, body temperature regulating process. Sweat cools of our body. It is produced by sweat glands. There are some events that can trigger sweat glands to over-react. As a result we have excessive sweating. Because you get nervous before your meetings, your body reacts with sweating. The process has a very complicated mechanism that involves a number of our hormones and organs. Getting stressed out because of a business meeting is nothing to be worried about. It happens to all of us. I suppose that you have tried using antiperspirants. They have an active affect on the pores of the armpit and should work by closing them. When the pores are closed, the sweating should be stopped. If the antiperspirants are not helping, you should consider talking to your doctor for possible remedies.
