can you get a disability after having a stroke?

My mother had a heart attack yesterday. I’m still terrified because I’m not sure that she will be ok. She is in hospital and she has a good care. Her doctor told me that she probably will be ok. I’m asking can you get a disability after having a stroke? Thanks!

Unfortunately, people who survive heart attack may get many kinds of disability. The stroke can make damage to the brain and that can be very severe. Then rehabilitation is an important part of recovery. But you must believe that everything will be ok. Many people may live normally after stroke. Good luck!
