what is the etiology of capsular contracture?

It is still not clear what causes capsule contracture but a couple of risk factors are considered. A person is at risk if:

1. Breast implant is placed above the muscle and not behind the muscle.
2. there has been a germ/bacterial contamination of the implant shell that caused an inflammatory reaction
3. Hematoma has formed
4. if patients smoke. Decreased oxygen levels may delay healing and cause inflammatory reaction
5. equipment was unsterile
6. there was trauma to the breast, etc
Have you developed capsular contracture or are you just considering possible complications of breast augmentation?

I am almost 3 weeks post op with BA mentor high profile smooth saline 300cc. The right breast is high and swollen and very painful. The doctor said I have CC and to go home and put on a bra and wrap an ace bandage very tight around my chest. Well, it hurts so bad I just rather be dead. He said to forget the pain!! I don't know what to do.
