What are carotid arteries? I mean where are they in our body? My best friend’s father had a stroke. They said that happened because the carotid artery was block.

We all have on each side of the neck an artery called common carotid. It splits into two branches, internal which brings oxygen-rich blood to the brain and external which brings blood to the face. So, these arteries, called the carotid arteries, supply your brain with blood and blockage of the internal carotid artery can reduce blood supply to the brain, causing a stroke. They are usually blocked with cholesterol or by fat. Most likely that happened to your friend’s dad.
