I have met a wonderful guy. He has approached me in the cafe. A perfect gentleman in any way. We were going out for a month and then we had decided to live together. And then the fairytale ended. He became violent. He starts to beat me. I had to leave. Later I have heard from a mutual friend that he has an antisocial personality disorder. What are the causes of developing antisocial personality?

Antisocial personality disorder is caused usually by a combination of factors. The greatest influence on it has the environment. If he was living in problematic family with the lack of supervision and control he may develop this disorder. Also problem can be in unsupported environment that do not encourage positive behavior. Genetic or biological factors also have the influence on disorder.
