My husband is 39 year-old and is signed for cervical disc corepectomy. I would like to know all about the recovery process and the possible complications of this surgery. Thank you in advance
As this is more extensive procedure, there are also greater risks than …lets say…. discectomy. The possible complication include nerve root damage, damage to the spinal cord, bleeding, infection, graft dislodgment, damage to the trachea or esophagus and some of them may require additional surgery.
After the surgery, he may be restricted to minimal activity. He may need a help of physical therapist. About all of this stuff, you will get the best info from his surgeon.
