Hi. I have started taking Topamax. I have noticed changes in period after starting the drug. Should I stop taking it? What to do? Is there a link between Topamax and periods or maybe I have some other problem?

Hi. I am taking Topamax too. I feel so much better and I think Topamax is so far the right treatment for me. Topamax, however, has its` side effects. More common side effects of Topamax include menstrual changes, menstrual pain, vision problems, confusion, dizziness, eye pressure, memory problems, etc. I have problems with my periods too. They have become painful and irregular. I am not really worried about it. I guess I should talk with my doctor about this problem, but I don`t want to. Topamax is controlling my seizures. I rather have painful periods than seizures.

I am taking Topamax for migraines. I have been taking it for 3 weeks now. But my period has been extremely heavy. I have had to stay home from work because it has been so heavy. Is this normal? I have have been dizzy as well but it has been working on my migraines.
Any help?

| I took it for a year and it made my period go away all together...also suffered severe hair loss... I had to stop taking it...i was balding..since I have been off 2 months..my period is back |
