| I address you in a hope that you might help me out with my problem. I am a mother of an 8 year old boy, who is in elementary school now. The school is what worries me. It seems that he has problems in school as soon as he steps through the main door. His concentration is very bad; he does not pay attention in classes, even when teacher speaks to him, he does not like both homework and schoolwork. Can you tell me something about childhood developmental disorders? Is that what is happening to my son or...? |

| To tell you the truth, there is a great possibility that your son is suffering from attention deficit disorder. Its symptoms are: cannot pay close attention to details, makes senseless mistakes in school and home, does not listen when spoken to, cannot follow through given instructions, has difficulties in organizing activities, very forgetful, etc I think that your child has these symptoms also. But, to be certain that he has this conditions, these symptoms have to occur for 6 months in 2 environments, school and home, in his case. |
