Lately, I have noticed a brown clot like discharge. It is not heavy and it is only noticeable when I wipe myself after going to the bathroom. It is not red blood, only brown, but it worries me it looks like clotting blood. Some clot-like things look like the stuff you get right at the beginning and end of your period. I was thinking it is because of birth control pills, but I am not sure, so can anyone tell me more.

I have to tell you that I take Yasmin continuous birth control pills, and I had the exact problem with clot like discharge. When this happen to me, at first, it really freaked me out. I posted a question about clot like discharge because of pills, but I did not get any answer. Therefore, I just waited until my next gynecologist appointment and there I asked my gynecologist if it was normal. I had luck, because she herself takes continuous Yasmin pills, and she said that it was very normal to have clot like discharge. My discharge was very light at first, but toward the end of my third pack, it changed. The spotting of clot like discharge slowly increased to light bleeding, then to heavy bleeding. I had even problem because I had 2 months with no period and then one full month of spotting and bleeding with this terrible clot like discharge. I was passing huge clots and I was worried. Anyway, my doctor said that it is normal and that when I start to spot and have these clots, that I should take a 5-day break from the pill and allow myself to have a period. She said that no more than 7 days should be skipped or ovulation can occur, and this is not something that I would like to happen.

I'm also having the same situation, but have been on birth controls pills for about three years. Should I be concerned?
