clotting and menstral cycles

for the past 3 months and earlier I have very irregular menstrual cycles and I notice blood clothes. This is I suppose not normal… Byw, I am 23 and have not yet been to gynecologist.

Wooow, girl, you must go to gynecologist…this is the same as saying, hey I am 23 and have never been to dentist, but I except my teeth to be healthy and white…
It is nothing that scary that would prevent you to go there …
Visit to gynecologist (who is usually a woman, if preferred) has to be an annual rutine! Once a year you have to be there.
Now, considering, irregular menstrual cycles and clotting.. there is certainly something wrong, some sort of polyp or small tumor on ovaries… you really have to go to gynecologist

I have been bleeding for like 9 days now and usually it's only 3-5 and i have been having extremely painful cramps in my lower stomache and back. I went to the gyno but he wanted to put me on birth control and i don't believe in it. I am just so upset cause i don't know why this is happening. People I know said that it's possible i could be having a miscarrage... is it true. How do I handle this, how can I help my self with out having to take birth control. I have been clotting also. The first time the clots where about the size of a golf ball. I explained this to my doctor but he just, like I said before,insisted that i start on the birth control. WHATS WRONG WITH ME?????

Hi. Were you quite late for your period? If you were late then the excessive clotting may indicate a miscarriage. Birth control tablets are often used to try to regulate menstural cycles. Your doctor doesn't sound very helpful, I would see another one and get another opinion

WELL I HAVE BEENING GOING THROUGHT THE SAME THING I HAVE BEEN TO THE DOCTORS AND HE TOLD ME THERES NOTHING WRONG ITS JUST SOMETHING THAT HAPPENS I HAVE BEEN HAVING A PERIOD FOR FOUR MONTHS STRAIGHT AND I DONT KNOW WHATS GOING ON CAN YOU GIVE ME SOME SUGGESTIONS

Well, I have been having the same problem except, I have an IUD it's been almost a year since it's been in. I began bleeding last Saturday and then Tuesday it stopped completely. WhileI was bleeding it was only a little bit, sort of like spotting, then wednesday I started again and have been bleeding since but now its heavy and a im cramping a lot, also a little clotting. Do you nkow what this could mean?

I am in the same boat with all of the above! I have been having irregular periods and clotting during my period for MONTHS! My doctor tried to put me on the pill, as well. This last period I passed clots bigger than I have ever seen-even when I miscarried. My doc put me on 3 days of estrogen (1.25 mg every 6 hours) and now started me on the pill...I am also going to have ultrasounds done...something can't be right....anyone else know what this might be? Not pregnant-they did a test.
