Is it possible that my 7 year old daughter has coccidiossis. She started seeing blood in her stools on 9/11/07. She had Charcot Leyden Crystals in her stool samples. Then they found Blastocystos Hominis. She was put on Septra, Alinia, Flagyl, Flagyl again, Septra again. She was then given anti-inflammatory capsules for three months to relieve colitis.
Could she have coccidiossis or is this only an animal disease. Does anyone know if humans get this and if so, how they get it and how it can be cured.
