codeine 222 s

I have been suffering from chronic pain for years now and my doc prescribed tablets 222 which contain codeine in them. Should I be careful with this drug as I know codeine is habit forming? Another thing, I have developed constipation. Could this drug be a reason for it or should I look for another reasons of my constipation? Thx

Yes, you are right about codeine and addiction. You should take this tablets just like your doctor ordered, don’t increase dosage on your own. As, for the constipation, the culprit is again codeine. It is the one that may cause constipation. Ask at the pharmacy what you can take in order to relieve constipation from 222.
