Hi, my father is 72 years old and he is suffering from colon polyps. Several days ago he had problems with his stool and he went to his doctor to get some laxative. Doctor suggested him to make colonoscopy to check if everything is fine and he found two polyps in his colon. He suggested him to come to make biopsy next week. I would like to know something more about this.

Hi, my father also had polyp in his colon and, as his doctor says, it is very common for people who are over 65 years old. It is very important to be checked what is the structure of polyp and if it is not adenopolyp than it is pretty harmless. Also it is important how many polyps are there. If there is one or two there is no reason to worry about. However your father would go on controls regularly.
