5 years ago I had a lobe of my left lung removed due to cancer. It was thought at the time I would not need to be on oxygen. A month after the operation I did need oxygen and have used it 24/7 since. My doctor told me later that I had a compression fracture, I believe T8 or T6. Can this fracture hurt your ability to breath on your own? I had heard that the nerves in that area control your breathing. And what would cause one to have a compression fracture from an operation?
