confusing information on knee realignment

I receive my medical care through the Veterans Hospital in Philadelphia. My Ortho doctor in Lebanon told me the only option for my knee is a knee realignment with soft tissue reconstruction. The doctor in Philly told me that while it will help with the misalignment it probably won't help with the pain. My problem is the doctor in Philly doesn't seem to understand that I am 32 with an 8 and 9 year old. My knee pain is affecting the things that I can and more often can't do with them. It is affecting sexual relationship with my husband.
Help, any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. I have also been told that I have Osteoarthritis. It's almost like well your too young for knee replacement so you'll just have to wait!
