For the last 1,5 months I have been having troubles with abdominal cramps. I can’t say they are related to my periods because I been having them almost constantly throughout this month. Then I read it could be due to ovulation but ovulation lasts only 24h, and to count some days around ovulation….it still can’t be it. Another weird that happened this month is that I got my period prematurely. Could these things be related?

I had similar problems six months ago. My periods started acting strange, I had breakthrough bleedings and I was really worried because I have always been regular. My mom suggested I should see a gynecologist and after touching my ovaries, she order an ultrasound and she determined that I had some ovarian cysts. She said that they are not dangerous (most of the time) but that they do cause weird symptoms like abdominal cramping, cramping in the ovarian area, and wicked menstrual cycles. She said she wouldn’t do anything besides wait and watch because these cysts go away on their own. They form during ovulation, when the sacs that release eggs fill with fluid. The thing is that they need to be watched because, they may become bloody and enlarge so much and threaten to burst. This doesn’t happen so often but there’s a risk. This is why I would recommend you saw a doc to check what’s going on.
