i too have the feeling of a lump in my throat like the feelin you get just before you cry.went to doctor several times one mornin the pain was so bad the doctor sent me to hospital chest exrays were normal e.c.g. was normal bloods showed no sign of fighting infection.went back to gp he prescribed lanzol.no relief then protium then pariet with zantac and gaviscon.no good cant stand this choking feeling.and that cold tightening sensation. have never had heart burn or any kind of indigestion before.not a nice feeling at all

here's a suggestion. i went over a year with pain in the upper right stomach area, well, when no stones showed up in the gall bladder, someone suggested I have a HIDA scan. this is a test where they see if your gall bladder still works. once they did it (the pain/symptoms got worse over time); they found my gall bladder had quite working.
They did take it out and for the first time in 4 years, I didn't have to take prilosec or the other meds for GERD. I went 7yrs. without GERD, then had similiar symptoms except more stomach related and they did another nuclear test to see if my stomach was contracting...which it wasn't. So now I have to take Reglan to make my stomach contract. But both these things truely helped me immensly.
I also get a hard lump in my throat, but I'm in menopause and if i'm not on estrogen, then it get's terrible and i can hardly swallow. so I stay on my estrogen until i get through this. hope some of this helps. definately check out the gall bladder.
Oh, and when they couldn't find stones in the gall bladder through an MRI, they DID find them after operating.

Does anyone have chest pressure and a feeling of hunger pangs but you know you're not hungry? Do you ever feel like your voice is on the verge of going hoarse, or does it go hoarse? Sometimes I think my whole digestive system is irritated. Nothing seems to help, not prilosec, not pepcid, not nexium. It sucks.

I have be having these symptoms for the last 1 year. A cold sensation in the center part of the chest a burning sensation in the stomach. The only time I feel like I am ok is within 10-15 mins after awakening from my sleep. My oesophagus is like al the acid from my stomach is falling into my esophagus. I have done all the tests, sonography, full body X-Ray, endoscopy, urine test, blood test, cardiogram, stool test etc. Everything seems to be normal, the doctor has diagnosed me with hyperacidity and given me PAN 40 to consume once in a day. But it ain't working no effects on my stomach nor chest and especially the oesophagus. This symptom I presume happened when I used to skip eating in the post afternoon hours during my working hours. I ate very little food for my lunch and not eating anything at around 5-6 p.m for a period of about of 2-3 months actually contracted me with this disorder. Guys, I used to feel hunger a lot during that time, but I ignored it because of the love of my work. Can anyone out there tell us more about this and help us with this. Please your help will be much appreciated. Question

hey guys i've been trying to tell myself that i'm just going nuts over this because i keep having these chest pains and shortness of breath and feel as if i need a needle to pop this feeling in my throat i even went to the er because the docters thought that i might have blood clot in my chest they xrays ct scan blood work and nothing showed up i think my husband thinks i'm nuts by now but hell i'm scared i'm goning to have a stroke or something please someone tell me something!!!!!!

I have the same thing here...bloated stomach, acid in my mouth all the time, i had an infection some kinda virus 3 weeks ago thats when it started i feelt better after 2,5 weeks when it all started but then after 3 days it got whorse...seems to me its the eating routin, ill explain why..i cutted my eating to soups and water...nothing heavy...and seems to me i cured the virus, but then i started eating everything as usual...and that when it happend, all these effects you all r talking about.
P.S im 18 NEVER had serious problems like this in my life. i didnt take any medicine and i didnt go to the doctor cuz its to expencive...i live in Sweden. Smile

I had the flu one week ago. I was a smoker and I do have acid reflux. However, I am having this cazy taste in my mouth-somewhat a poisenous feeling coming from my abdomen and through my throat into my mouth. Colgates hinders my taste buds. The smelling of something cooking is very uncomfortable. It feels as if I cannot breathe. and the taste in my mouth is horrible. I cannot seem to find out what it is... Does anyone know??????? PLEASE ADVISE.

Hi, i came across this site while looking for something to explain whats wrong with me....I went to E.R. the other night....I woke to a pain in the sternum area and a burning in my throat...fell to my knees in pain and woke my husband...got EKG, BLOOD WORK, and CEST X-RAY...all o.k.
when the pain was going away I felt coldness in the middle of my chest.
The doctors are telling me the same thing and giving me the same meds. as all of you...............How can we all have a wide variety of feelings and the doctors all say the same thing????
My thoughts: Lactos intolerant?,Gullstones?( I have had this and was misdiagnosed with having heartburn!!! two weeks after my baby was born I went to surg.) What about a silent killer..MOLD ...my nieghbor was having headaches, tummy pain, burning feeling,ect...everything we are writting about....MOLD was the problem...maybe look around you and see whats there....and think back to where you were before you started feeling like this ...can you put yourself back in that area for a while and try not to think about your med. problems and do fun stuff...and when you go to bed look back at the day to see if you had prob.
Can you stay away from your home for a week or so???
I am looking for help also.....also to ad to my prob. I always feel hungry and have that nagging feeling in my chest..feeling of something in throat all the time.....help

hi my problem consist of a pain in my upper stomach and a coldness in my chest and also i feel nauseaus and the coldness goes to my back.this started the day i started this medication for the tb virus and a week after i started the medicine all this discomfort started and its really bothering me i had some blood work for my kidneys,pancreas ,and liver and they all came back normal thanks be to god and also had chest x-ray and all normal do you think if theres were something bad in stomach would it come out on the exams i had before.some days i ;m constipated and another day i have loose stool can someone help me please!!!! Crying or Very sad

i have been feeling that way for months now..i feel a constant cold feeling in my chest, then my chest hurts...then it sends me into a panic attack....i feel like i am going crazy most of the time and have been in such a depression all i want to do is sleep...i have been to the er 4 times and they did ekg's that all came normal. well the gave me ativan for the panic attacks..which kinda helps...they took my gallbladder out last year but i still have the same pain in my stomach constantly so i am having an endoscopy and colonoscopy on monday...to figure it out..i even had them do an echocariogram to make sure its not my heart...i feel like a mess i cant wait till they find out and all this is OVER......but in your situation too alot of these symptoms are symptoms of GERD. which i also have I would just go to your doctor and get it checked out at least you will know whether or not there is a problem and that should give you some piece of mind...take care
