constant menstrual bleeding

[b]Well I too have had similar bleeding but I haven't had a period in a long time(Irregular) unless this is my period but it has been doin it for about 3 and a half weeks now...but it doesn't seem like period because i don't have cramps or anything hardly and was wonderin' if anybody else noticed symptoms?[/b]

I am a 51 year old female. My mensus growing up was normally 7 - 10 days long and every 28 days. Around age 45 is shortened to 5 days. Now aproximately one year ago I had my mensus so heavy I had to have an emergency pelvic exam and they gave me a prescription to stop the hemorraging. I had one normal cycle after that and now I bleed light all the time. Not heavy enough for a pad but a panty liner has to worn constantly. Is this a sign or pre menopause or is it something else ???
