constant pain & swelling in my feet

I have constant pain and swelling in my feet. I have a hard time walking most of the time because of the pain. I hobble around. I can no longer wear shoes because my feet are too swollen and sore to put them into shoes. This has been going on for close to six months now. In the last month and a half my left ankle has also swollen up and doesn't go down. It has also become painful because the swelling is so much.
