if you are on a carb depletion type diet, say Atkins, then when your body goes into ketosis (carb depletion) you will have a sweet taste in your mouth, almost like a saccrine taste...like sweet-n-low or such. But diabetics also have issues with ketones and carbs so to be safe have a glucose check if your not doing the low carb diet. Just a thought.

I have had a sweet taste in my mouth for a few days and I am on a low carb diet. I never realised the sweet taste could be due to this. Why is that?

Hi, I am seven months pregnant and constantly craving fruit only. I bought Carnation instant breakfast three weeks ago and drank it with milk and woke up with a nasty sweet taste in my mouth. Its lasted for a month on and off. I hate it. It shows up more when I drink water. I already was checked for diabetes and it was negative. I am so worried. I also have been constipated and I read somewhere it can be a sign of interstinal issues but I dont know. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it

I found out about a month ago that I was pregnant, and not too long afterwards I started to develop a sweet taste in my mouth. It's almost always there, and it's strongest after I eat anything, whether it be sweet or not. From what I've read I'm not far along enough to have gestational diabetes, and I didn't have diabetes beforehand, so I'm not too sure what's going on.

I have Type II diabetes but my sugars are well managed by weight loss, exercise and diet ... a very low carb diet. When this sweet taste started, I was so frightened that I tested my sugar immediately. It was 90. I take hoodia, and my doctor just took me off my potassium supplement. My doctor also just doubled the amount of fish oil that I take every day, so there are some intestinal issues. I'll keep y'all posted.

is always worth getting checked out, although you fill find that is you chew bread for 5 mins it will taste sweet, because this like any carb iit s broken down to reduced sugars (monosaccarides) during digestion, which always taste sweet.
I have also found that i have had a constant sweet taste in my mouth for the last two weeks, the only things i can think of is that i use alot of splenda and hav a bigger apetite than usual, this is the first day i have tried not eating it but i still have the sweet taste |
