| Well last week I had the biopsy done and didnt bleed for 2 days prior to that. Which I was very excited. Since the biopsy I have been bleeding very heavy. I called the doctor yesterday and I was told to double up on the birth control pills they changed me to 2 weeks ago. So I woke up this morning and so far it's a little lighter. Well I am scheduled for a tubal ligation and an edometrial ablation on Sept. 18th. With great hopes it will help. |

Serioulsly. Okay...i'm no expert, and I've been lucky with my issue being able to be resolved. whether you are overweight, underweight, tall, short, different races, whatever. GO SEE A DOCTOR! the doctor i went to see, who is my normal ob/gyn was seriously disappointed that i did not go to them sooner - even without having insurance. Unexplained vaginal bleeding is a serious problem, and should be treated. the most diagnosed is dysfunctional uterine bleeding, which is what i was diagnosed with. They start out treating with birth control or other horomone therapies. Premarin may be for women going through menopause, but there are more than one use for medications. (I was on abilify for my bipolar, which i was told for schizophrenia, and now there are commercials for it for something that is totally opposite of hallucinations or depression.) it's horomone therapy. I've gone to school with girls who started on birth control at age 12 because their bleeding was so unbelievably heavy and irregular. It's just horomone treatment. there's some kind of chemical in your body that causes the blood to clot in your uterus, and then at "that time of the month" another chemical unclots that blood so it comes out. Horomone treatment is just to try to level out those chemicals to make it normal. Sometimes, there are more serious problems, like cysts and fibroids, but that is usually determined after different kinds of birth control prove to be uneffective. It takes atleast 3 months for your body to get into a cycle with any kind of birth control. And every birth control is different. they have different levels of horomones than others.
Enough of my ranting.
Bottom line is, call a gynocologist, tell them your situation, tell them you dont have insurance or the money to pay for tests and everything. They can usually give you a discounted drs visit fee, and free samples of birth control. If birth control doesnt help, then your doctor will work with you to make sure you get the help you need, within your budget. And if they're not willing to help you out, they're just in it for the money, and don't care about your well being. I was lucky to find one who cared about me, and not my money- or lack there of. |

| well...im like guest...ive been bleeding for 2-3 years...I've never been regular. i use to bleed 2 weeks at a time then one moth i was bleeding for the whole month...the obgyn said it was ok and i will straighten out on my own..gave me some birth control...well i took the birth control one month and stopped because when i wasn't on my period...id walk down the halls at school or be sitting in class and be cramping. now remind you i never had cramps before. thank god i set it up where id be on spring break! i woke up crying because the cramps were so bad...i took 9 midol throughout the day just to calm the cramps down...this was my sophomore year of high school...not only was i having horrible cramping i was also bleeding very heavy...i decided just to have my problems...i never wanted on birth control anyway after what it did to my mom...but i was bleeding for a month off for 2 months and so on...well then i started bleeding every month with a few days not bleeding...its not usually heavy so i guess that's a good thing...but never-the-less i still am bleeding almost every day except for a few now and then. sometimes its the normal red blood color...sometimes its darker. im 19 and have never had a normal period, and honestly im worried that i will never be able to have kids...ive told my fiance my problems and hes OK with it but we have been talking about having kids lately and i just break down in tears because that's what i want and i don't think i will be able to have them because i never stop bleeding... |

| I felt so much better after reading all the other letters from women experienceing the same thing as myself. I am 46, always been regular with some symptoms of menopause - night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings - but my periods for the most part have always been seven days on and 21 days off, unitl this year. I lost both of my grandparents- one in January the other in February. They were like my parents. In March, April and May I had no period. Then in June I had one that was normal. July and August have been a nightmare. I started spotting in July and then had what I thought was a normal period at the end of July only thing is it never stopped. It has slowed to almost nothing and then is brownish in color for a day or two then right back to bright red with a few clots. I feel so emotional and this doesn't help. I finally went to the doctor two weeks ago - haven't been to one for almost ten years. She found my blood pressure was extremely high 175/105, started me immediately on blood pressure medicine which has helped that. She also did a Uteran Biobsy in the office. I haven't heard anything on that yet. I go back this Friday for blood work and a recheck from the primary care physician and then on Monday the 18th I have a sonagram of my ovaries. The 21st I go back to the gyno for results. I have really no pain anywhere except a cramp or two or light back pain - nothing constant. I have been on a lot of sights trying to find out whats wrong with me. I have looked at everything from colon cancer to female cancers to bladder and kidney cancers. I find myself either wanting to cry all the time or throw something. I feel so tense and the littlest things seem to really put me on edge. I work three jobs and take care of my grandaughter who is six and I simlply adore and feel guilty when I feel myself snapping at her. I just hope they can make me feel normal again. Happily Married for 28 years and I feel like I am neglecting my husband becasue of no sex. He is wonderful and just wants me to take care of myself and try to destress my life some. Easier said than done. This sight has helped me alot - at least I know I am not alone |

| Well, I was told by my doctor last week to double up on my bc pills. So i did and my period was gone for like 6 days, the best 6 days I have had in a long time. Anyhow, I am now on the placebo pills and my period is back with a vengance. Well I guess now I have to wait and see what happens when I start my pills again on monday to one a day. I just can't wait until sept. when I am scheduled to have the ablation done. I was told my biopsy came back normal and i am a good candidate for it. I have had an ultrasound done in the past and they found no cycst or fybroid. I too feel like I am neglecting my husband. I have to say he has been wonderfully supportive during all of this. I guess I am not the only one going through it, he is too. |

I am 25 years old and thanks to my crazy body and retarded doctors I have been bleeding since february 14, 2008 thats right 7 whole magnificant months I have gone to my doctors since may 27, 2008 and every month since then and these morons can not seem to find the source their conclusion on the events is "You need to lose weight" well how about that these jerks are telling me to lose weight meanwhile my doctor is as big as a house "practice what you preach" os my motto.
I have a 6 year old boy and ever since I came out pregnant with him my health has been crazy. I have take that depo shot then the patch then the pills and now nothing because honestly if I havent come out pregnant since him why should I make myself "A guinea Pig" I found another doctor who has ordered a sonogram so I am waiting to get that done. To let you guys know I have hypothyroid and high blood pressure and I am "over weight"
It feels good to vent glad to have come upon this sight for real, no one in my family knows my pain, I go through a bag of pads in 1 and a half day and thats the 28 count and I am always scared that blood is going to seep through the pad and onto my clothes. My doctor prescribed some hormone pills to me to take for 7 days but once that finished it was masacre city down there must get some type of help. I am really to the point where if I can be honest I am ashamed to be a women and I wish that my life would end because the bleeding has taken over my life anyway. |

i had no idea how common this problem is, and everyones stories are the same! i was on yasmin (for my skin), had no problems until june last year then had my period constantly. went to my gp - all she did was keep putting me on different pills, nothing helpled (and my skin got worse). I took it upon myself to stop taking the pill and see what would happen to my body naturally....well after 2 months my period went back to normal..had my period like clockwork with no spotting. stayed off the pill for about 7 months and then gave the pill another go for contraception reasons and 2 weeks into the pill ive started bleeding again.
not to say that everyone is the same but all that info about weight loss, diet, stress factors i think is all rubbish...its definately a hormone issue. now i just need someone to listen to me and tell me what can be done about it...would a gyno be the best specialist to see for hormone issues??? |

I think I have a similar problem. Was wondering if anyone could give me any advice.
I have had a slow, but constant period for two months now. Every day I have to use some kind of liner or tampon and it just won't stop. It is very light bleeding though.
I haven't gone to my doctor because I have no medical insurance but also because I just feel weird about being examined.
I am not sexually active and I am not on birth control. I just don't know what's wrong with me. Any ideas? |

I have been going to my gyno to get all the neccessary tests done and well he or she may suggest to take hormone pills for 7 to 10 days depending. Schedule a sonogram to make sure its not just cysts get a sonogram to check the lining of your vaginal wall, thats what my gyno has me doing, this week i have a sonogram appt to measure my vaginal wall and lining because he feels it may be something more to my bleeding |
