I used the Patch when I first went on birth control & I noticed some heart palpitations after I went off it. Then there was this whole "legal" thing on TV about the Patch so I didn't know if this could be related or if it just happened around the same time. |
I have never been on birth control, yet the problem is getting worse. |

| If your boy friend does mechanic work or gets his hands similarily soiled, there may be irritant chemicals left on his hands even if he washes them (which is often with a solvent anyway) |

| I'm having quite a similar problem. Whenever I have sex, ONLY during intercourse (so no problems with fingers) does an intense burning start. It really hurts, and I can only compare it to an extreme rug burn. I don't understand it and I don't know what to do. I've been sexually active for 4 years, and while I've had multiple partners, I'm positive none of them have any STDs, myself included. I don't think its a yeast infection, because it doesn't sting or burn when I go to the bathroom (unless I go right after sex, which let me tell you is a horrible idea). It only started recently, in the last month or so I'd say. I did just get on birth control (the NuvaRing) recently, so I'm thinking that may be a possible cause, but I just don't know. I don't have the money to see a doctor, but I want to stop this before it gets worse. Does anyone have any idea whats going on? |

| i've been with my boyfriend for about a year and a half now and it started about 9 months ago i believe. i was on birth control about two months after we started dating and stopped about 5 to six months later because of symptoms(like cramps) worsening. it was probably a little while after that when it started burning. it's not outside burning but inside like acid burning or something. i figured i might be allergic to condoms or lubricant because it was horrific with one on... but it hurt ALOT without one on also(but not AS bad). my boyfriend has been my only sexual partner and vise versa. i've been tested for STD's and have had other tests and they have come back negative. I can't find anyone to help me so if you have ANY information please let me know. I would be completely grateful. |

| I, too have recently started having the same problem. I am a healthy 19 years old and have been in a monogamous relationship for two years. I have been tested for STD's and im clean. I do however, get UTI's about every other month. This burning is just on the outside of the vagina, and started happening about 5 months ago. It gets so frustrating for both me and my finance when all we want to do is have sex, but end up stopping 5 min into it because the burning is so bad. I've settled for giving him blow jobs, which still keeps our sex life above water, but a girl can only take so much of that! I REALLY would like to find an answer, & i'm glad im not alone in my struggle. |

| Me and my girlfriend (im a guy) are experiencing the same symptoms except it's not only her vagina that burns or itches but also my penis during sex. I have done rigorous research online and It all points to either a yeast infection or some common nerve disorder. I have had symptoms like this once before, but they quickly ceased and did not affect her. Also, after the first or so time we experienced these symptoms, I noticed tiny red spots on the head of my penis. The burning pain is very dull for me but opposite for her. Ive noticed that her vagina is a little red just inside her vagina. Im going to continue to search for an answer but so far it doesnt seem to be std related. |

| This is a type of vaginal infection. I was taking medicines for the same thing. Now i am fine. You should also consult your doctor about this. As it can create further problems for you. |

Might just be a coincidence, but I have also noticed that my burning problem also started after I took birth control. For the past few months, sex hasn't been very pleasurable for me. In fact, it hurts now. Especially when my husband ejaculates, it really burns. At first I thought maybe it was because I was allergic to the proteins in his semen (I have read that this could happen), but now it seems to burn all the time, even at the beginning of sex. Then I thought maybe I was allergic to latex condoms or something in lubricants, but even without these things, it still burns.
I've been taking Loestrin Fe 24 for the past few months and I think this could be a factor. Also, I use cornstarch baby powder in my "area" daily to keep myself dry. Could these two things be somehow irritating my tissue or something, making it burning? Not sure. My husband thinks it's all in my head, but if I could feel the burning that I feel during sex, I think he would change his mind.
Someone mentioned "Vulvodynia" and Gabapentin tablets on the first page--I didn't even know that existed. Thanks for that, I will definitely look into that. |
