Friday it was heavier and brownish color so I called my OB/GYN and she send me to the hospital. The took blood, checked my cervic and did a sonogram. Everything looked good so they sent me home basically on bedrest, which sucks. Tuesday, still bleeding and cramping pretty heavy, blood is bright red now, passing a few clots. So I went to the hospital again, they did the same thing. Baby looks good, in the right place, strong heartbeat. Its Thursday now, still bleeding, cramping etc. I feel like I'm going to miscarry. I'm to the point now that if its going to happen, I want it to happen soon. I can't stand the bleeding and the pain anymore. My period isn't this long. I can't even use tampons. I hate wearing pads : ( If anyone had been through this, I would greatly appreciate words of wisdom. |
I too am going through this now and it is very scary with all of the cramping. I almost feel as if I am in labor but they say everything is fine. I guess only they know |

| I too am about 7 weeks pregnant and last Friday started bleeding and cramping. I have one daughter so i know what a "normal" pregnancy is like and i have had 2 miscarriages - both at 3 weeks. I thought I was miscarrying again. When i saw my doctor 5 days later he said since my bleeding was not as strong and the clots were not as big - i could still be pregnant. I went for blood work and an ultrasound and everything came back positive. I am still pregnant. The bleeding and cramping have continued throughout the weekend - getting a little heavier and more clots - all still the size of a quarter - i have an appointment today with my doctor to discuss in detail the results of my tests. He did mention though that this type of bleeding could result from miscarrying a twin. One miscarries and one stays implanted and healthy. I don;t know how this can be confirmed - this is one thing i want to bring up today. I know how frustrating it is - the constant pain and bleeding is awful. However try to stay positive as your baby needs it. That's what i keep telling myself too. Good luck. |

I have had allot of what you ladies have been experiancing, bleeding and cramping, i was told when i had a scan at 7 weeks i would ahev some bleeding as it was surounding the sac. this came away at the start of the week and as you can imagine, i was a wreak!
i managed to get in and get an ultrasound the day after (wasn't impressed that it wasn't the same day as i was beside myself with worry) anyway it got worse durning the evening so got admitted to another hospital via my gp (who was very understanding) the scan showed a healthy heartbeat and kicking baby. i am now 10 weeks + and started with brown discharge again after my scan on tuesday i'm not so worried as i was told that i may have some more bleeding as there was still some (very small amount 4mm next to the sac). i am assuming that it is what this is, although i know that if it gets worse i can call the hospital up and get them to put my mind at rest and if needs be get in for another scan.
if you have any problems i would ring your midwife, see your gp or go into hospital and get an ultrasound!

My OB tested my hCG and Progesterone levels and the hCG came back at the levels that it should be, however my progesterone was a little below what he said he would like to see. I will be going in on Monday to be retested. Is this normal? Is is it normal to be spotting AND have NO pregnancy symptoms? I miscarried 4 months ago so I am frantic that it will happen again. Please let me know what you all think. Thanks! |

Posted: 08/04/08 - 07:41 Post subject: Black or brown blood in pregnancy |
|

Hi Ladies, I know how you all feel. I am 35 and suffered a miscarriage Sept 07 and it broke my heart, I had the brown spotting all the way through until I miscarried and I never thought I would recover. Then in Feb of 08 we decided to try again and got pregnant in April. I'm now 14 weeks 5 days and a week and a half ago I went swimming and had this really heavy bleed when I got home from the pool, I was trying to get some neonatal exercise but felt a pain in my belly button. The blood was red and gushing and this time I just didn't panic, I just felt so calm, I knew my baby was okay but I knew I had to go to the hospital. They did a scan and my baby was kicking about and punching my tummy, I was so happy and the Midwife at the hospital said this to me and I hope it helps anyone who reads it. ;When your pregnant your insides turn to mush to make way for the baby to grow, your heart beats faster so your producing more blood and your blood vessels are pumped full of blood, all it takes is a slight knock by lifting something, bending, or in my case trying to be a dolphin under water can burst a vessel in your cervix or vaginal and you will bleed' but you must remember this also, no pain and black blood or brown blood, stringy or not is GOOD!!! some women just have bleeds and it is usually a sign of high hormone levels which is good for fertility too but they never really know why but if it's black or brown it's a good sign. Now I have had this black stuff for well over a week and some days it's hardly there and some days it is, but I have found that if I just put my feet up and only move to go to the toilet (my husband has been fantastic) I don't bleed at all. So please don't worry, some women bleed because they would have been due for a period at that time, or would have been ovulating but please remember to take it easy, we may feel on top of the world but we are just mushy vein engorged blood vessels with precious cargo inside that need us so take it easy. Also don't be afraid if you get lower tummy pain and back pain at the same time, that is just your uterus making way for the baby to get bigger. It is softening your ligaments so your baby can grow fast and easier. |

Hi paule, I came across this post searching for answers about my own pregnancy. I too have been having brown bleeding, for 14 days now, very light and only when I wipe (I'm 6 weeks pregnant and had one ultrasound so far, another to follow. First showed a heart rate of 110). Today I had some clots in it- maybe about the size of a bean. I know this post is pretty old, but I was just wondering how your pregnancy ended up. I know it's a longshot you will respond, but reassurance would be wonderful!

Hello. I'm 30 year old female and soon I'm going to become a mother for the first time. You can't imagine how thrilled I was when I've heard about the news that I'm pregnant because my husband and I were trying so hard.
Got has listen all my prayers. I'm pregnant almost two months now and I would like to hear more about one specific problem that’s troubling me. I started to suffer from continuous brown bleeding with clots and don’t know how common this really is in first trimester of pregnancy. Can anyone please help me with this?

|

| I am 40 years old and this is my 6th pregnancy i had an 8 month stillborn and two miscarriages i am experiencing cramps and some spotting i am only 51/2 weeks so it is too early to detect life. The sac was still detected on an ultrasound and my hcgs are going up drastically. My doctor said i probably passed this. She said my hcgs were too high for my gestational age of pregnancy. Couldnt this mean twins? I was told that after age 35 your chances increase and with identical twins there is only one sac unlike fraternal needing two. I am not bleeding anymore but still crampy. Should i just write this off or keep praying? I am too old for this . What are your suggestions i can do to prevent early misscarriages or herbs i can take. [/b] |
