My mother has retinal detachment. Doctor explained me that as a retinal tear. She has a history of cataract extraction, so she was in great risk for this. Now I would like to know how they will solve this. What are the ways of correcting retinal tear? Is it painful or not?

Hi, my father had retinal detachment too. So I have learned something about it. First, you need to know that it is the same – retinal detachment and retinal tear. It means that there was a hole in retina and that it causes the break. For correcting it, doctors use laser or kriotherapy in order to provoke inflammatory process. During inflammation scar will be made and will reattaches retina back.
