Cortisone injections are used when hair loss is due to an autoimmune disorder called alopecia areata. In this condition, patches of hairs fall off and nothing and nobody can prevent new patches from falling off.
The fallen hair can be re-grown by using cortisone injections but like I said, it will only help re-grow the lost hair but new patches may appear. Sometimes the disease may resolve spontaneously but it’s not something to you can count on.
When Cortisone injections are used, they are injected in the lost hair patch and the hair starts growing in that area. The injections are used once per month for a total of two to six months.
You may decide to find a clinic that specializes in hair and scalp problems, especially alopecia areata.
