My daughter has been suffering from pertussis. He has such severe coughs that come in spasm and it causes her to vomit. Is there anything I can do to make these coughing spasms less severe or even disappear? Thank you

This is what I have been advised to give my daughter when she was ill. |They told me to give her warm apple juice or tea. This could be soothing to your child and could break the coughing spasms. You could also place a humidifier in your child's room. To get rid of thick secretions in the nose and throat you may use a gentle suction with a bulb syringe and saline water. Make her drunk a lot of fluids and keep her away from things that trigger coughing, such as tobacco smoke, perfumes, or pollutants.
