i have been having this mild pain under my right rib cage, and occasional pain under my right shoulder blade. this has been happening for about a month now. its mostly everyday, but sometimes it is every few days. the pain seems to come and go..but when it does it can last anywhere from 30 min. to an hr or so. i have been looking up information on gallstones but it seems to be in older people. i am only 17.
what could this be?

I am only 20 and am due to go have my gall bladder removed next week. I had been experiencing pains for 2 or 3 years now and had to pursuade my doctor to let me go for a scan as he though i was too young to have gallstones. My parents have both had the operation and we have a strong family history. Insist to your doctor that you want to go for an ultrasound to see if there are any stones there.
hi there just read ur post im 18 years old and ive got gulstones but if u went to the doctors they will most proply say its just acid at first but keep going back or if the pain gets that bad just go donw A&E thats if u cant cope with the pain and u mite find out if uve got them or not thats wat i did i was waiting in pain and everything then they finaly did me a scan 3 months later and shows that i have gulstones but just becareful wat u eat dont have nothing fatty avoid red meat as much as u can and have as little dairy products as u can then u mite seem the pain will stop or ease of a little bit
