I had dilation and curettage a week ago because of polyp that I had in uterus. It was non cancerogenous but had to be removed because was big and made pressure. Procedure was noncomplicated and took less than 10 minutes. I am a bit concerned because have cramps. I have started feeling them 3 days after D&C. What causes cramping now? Is it normal side effects of D&C?
Cramping is normal symptom that follows D&C. It usually lasts from several hours to several days. Spotting or irregular bleeding also may be expected during first 2 weeks after the procedure. Have rest and take Tylenol or advil to relieve pain and cramps. So, do not be concerned because cramping is normal. I guess that you’ll have your regular post-op check, so, let your gyn know about your symptoms
