cramping and brownish discharge

i have been having painful cramps off and on for about a week and today started having a brownish colored discharge when i went to the bathroom. i had unprotected sex with my fiancee 3 weeks ago but am on birth control and have continued to take it since. i am not due to start my period for 2 weeks. could i be pregnant?
