For last 2 months, I have been experiencing cramps and symptoms that are typical to occur before my period. But my period missed both of the times. I have to say that usually do not have very regular periods, but this seemed different to me. That pain and cramping were more intensive that usually. I’m 23 years old, and as I have not been sexually active for last few months, am sure that am not pregnant. What else can it be?

Well, I do not want to scare you, but there is possibility of polycystic ovary syndrome. Although, it is not uncommon that these symptom, cramping with no period, when it is its due, to occur in infections with Chlamydia or gonorrhoea. But you have not mentioned that had any other symptoms, like discharge or something.
Ovarian cysts can be reason for missed period. They can be diagnosed by ultrasound. There is adequate treatment for these cysts, so you don’t have to be worried now, if it sounds like you have it. When have you visited your gyn for the last time? One routine exam can give you the answer.

I too have missed my period for several months. It started in Aug. of last year, I went to the gyno in sept and she told me it could be due to weight gain...ruled out other diseases, I was tested for EVERYTHING (STDs, Thyroid, etc.) I wonder if I too could have this? My pap came back normal. So she put me on provera for 6 months. I looked it up online and realized that it doesnt make you ovulate, just induce your period! I want to know why I am NOT ovulating!!!! So, I quit taking provera, the last period I had (medicine induced) was in Feb of this year. Last normal period (and when I say normal I mean my body by its self) was in July of last year! Why didn't my gyno test me for this??? I am scared! I have another appointment on the 30th of this month with another doctor...I hope I can still have kids..I'm only 22! If anyone can help, please let me know! thanks
