Hi, my boyfriend is a sport enthusiast. He works out almost every day. Sometimes he runs, next day he swims and occasionally he cycles. And let's not forget the gym. I don't know were he gets his strength from. I am a bit of a potato couch and just by looking at him exercise I get tired. Now he has set himself on a mission. He is trying to convince me to start cross training workouts. I am not that enthusiastic but I am willing to give it a try, if it is not too demanding. Can you tell me something about cross training workouts? Will I be able to stick to the program or will I just make a fool out of myself?

Hello, cross training workout is a workout where you combine different forms of exercise. The workout program that your boyfriend is following is a type of cross training workout. When you cross train you activate different muscle groups and keep your entire body in shape. Working out is good for your physical and mental health. Because you have never trained take things slow. Don't try to keep up with your boyfriend because you might hurt yourself and I fear that this would be the end of your cross training career. Follow his example but do the workout at your one pace if you want to enjoy it. Be persistent, don't give up and in time you will see the benefits of cross training workout.
