I had childbirth few months ago and I am afraid my pelvis is weakened because of this. Off course, I have mark I had bigger stomach, so I would like to have some exercise. It passed enough time my gynecologist recommended me I should wait. Anyway, I am afraid I will get prolapse if I do crunches for example. Can you explain to me what is actually prolapse, and how is it connected with eventually crunches I would done.

A prolapse is the name used when the organs in your pelvis, such as uterus, bladder or bowel, drop down into the vagina. Off course, this happens instead these organs sitting in their normal position. This can cause heaviness, dragging or aching type of feeling in the vaginal area. This symptom often feels worse at the end of the day and better in the morning or after lying down. Some women also notice lower abdominal aching and backache due to having this kind of a prolapse. Bulge in the vaginal area may also be felt, and sometimes this bulge may actually be felt outside of your vaginal opening. Another way many women describe the feeling of having a prolapse is that it feels like everything is going to fall out. If you doubt of prolapse, definitely you should avoid doing abdominal curl ups, sit-ups or crunches. These exercises can place pressure downwards on your pelvic floor muscles and further weaken the muscles. Abdominal bracing exercises will help your pelvic floor muscles to work and will not place any strain or pressure on the prolapse.
