I'm a virgin (17 almost 18 ) thinking about sex with my bf of 1.5 years (he's 19) - i'm not going to get on the pill until i'm 18...he has condoms, and i'm wondering if that's enough as long as we time it in relation to my time of month? or should i wait and get on the pill and use condoms - we wouldnt be having sex on a regular basis for quite a bit due to distance issues - maybe once every 3 months.

I've been researching condom effectiveness, but I'm not convinced - and I also have another question to add- Last time we were together he fingered me - i was clothed, but the next couple days i had some brown discharge - was that the actual hymen tearing a bit from that?
