hello

i found a tender, free-floating lump just above my right testicle. It has been there a while and only recently has gotten more tender (which coincidentally got worse when i started to bike ride more often). It turns out this in fact in my epidiymis. I went to the doctor and he did an examination and could not feel the lump on my right side, but found a small cyst on my left side. He said my symptoms are consistent with a cyst. In the 4 days since i have seen him, pain has been coming from this cyst. IF i touch it is tender and will usually hurt for several hours afterwards. Will it go away or is there anything i can do about? should i stop bike riding?

Hi there! Yes, I think you should stop riding your bike for the time being until you clear up your symptoms, so you wouldn’t aggravate them.
Honestly, I think that the pain in the left testicle is just psychological considering it started when the doc mentioned it. If it is really a cyst, they usually don’t hurt that much, they don’t hurt at all actually especially if they are so small that you didn’t even notice it.

Did the doctor tell you what kind of cyst it was? A hydrocelle or a spermatocele? Where exactly it is situated. Spermatocele is situated on top of epididymis and is filled with milky fluid and dead-sperm cells. A hydrocele makes your scrotum swell like a balloon, as if there were fluid retention. Can you make a difference?

These cysts are usually left alone and only removed if they get way too big and troublesome. What did your doctor suggest?
