What is the strength of daily non-prescription h2 antagonists? What is the best over-the –counter for heartburn? I have problem with acid indigestion and use Maalox. Do you have any suggestion for me? Thanks.

Maalox is antacid, it helps in acid indigestion. You can also try with alka seltzer, pepto-bismol, titralac or Mylanta. H2 blockers that are available without prescription are axid ar, pepcid as, tagamet hb and zantac 75. All of these otcs are effective in treatment of heartburn symptoms. If your symptoms are not relieved with these medications, you may need prescription medicine.
