Hello. I'm 17 years old female and I would like to hear more about some aspects of normal menstruation.
About a year ago I have got my first period and since then –they are always on time. I would say I'm lucky because all of my friends have so irregular cycle.
This period is somehow different from all others before because there was really a lot of blood and I also noticed that last three days- blood was dark red. This got me really frightened because it really looks strange. I haven’t told anyone about this. Should I be worried about this or this could also be symptoms of normal menstrual bleeding?

Hello. I see that this scared you a bit and you reminded me on my self when I was your age. There are many certain “irregularities” that could occur in women cycle and you must know that they mean nothing alarming.
Amount of blood can vary from cycle to cycle as well as the color of blood. Because this months, you had excessive bleeding- small amount of blood already clotted and turned into dark red color.
It is completely normal and couldn’t be associated with any unwanted condition.
Maybe you should talk more about this with your mother which can explain you many things that you could expect from your menstruation!
