I have been drinking a lot for a long time. Sometimes I am a shame of everything I have done during my drinking period. I want to stop now. I have professional assistance. They have warned me that there is possibility of delirium tremens. If that happen what kind of treatment they will undertake?

I hope that it will not happen, and I am glad that you are aware of your problem. It is the best way to solve it. My husband also has drinking problems but he is not so conscientious like you. I am a nurse so I know something about it. This condition appears when level of alcohol in your blood drops. It can be treated or even prevented by fairly large dose of glucose, thiamine and insulin, controlling the fluids and B vitamin.
