Hi there, I am a guy who is 35 years old. I have to take my mother to a psychiatrist because it is believed that she is suffering from dementia. I would like to know how this condition is diagnosed. I am sorry to hear this. I will do my best to help you out. You should know this; proper diagnosis can be given only by a specialist. But there are some quick tests that are pretty reliable too. She will have to do some blood tests, just to put treatable causes to a side. It is useful to do MRI and CT. That is everything I know. Sorry if I wasn't of much help.
