I feel like my world is falling apart. My only parent, my mother is suffering from senile dementia. She is 75 years old, and my only true friend, I got divorced two years ago, my children are grown up already and, well, she's all I have now. There has to be some kind of dementia treatment. I cannot admit the fact that this condition is not curable.

Well, there are things in our lives we cannot affect at all. I am afraid that the news is bad. All kinds of dementia are non curable. Dementia therapies are there just to slow the brain deteriorating process. In your mother's case it consists of taking antipsychotic medicaments and curing the basic illness that caused dementia in the first place. Still, it is not enough to completely revitalize your mother's mind.
