I was thinking about taking demulen as a pill for birth control. I have a friend who already uses pills, and she told me it is not a problem. I am a little bit confused about this kind of birth control, because I do not understand it. Can you tell me something about this kind of preventing pregnancy, could it be dangerous? I would like to know possible side effects of Demulen.

There are so many women out there, who already use birth control pills, demulen also, and it is proven as a good way for birth control. Before I recommend you those pills, I have to remind you this kind will only help you not to get pregnant. demulen cannot protect you from getting sexually transmitted diseases, condom is the only who can do it. Many doctors warrants about increased risk for women who smokes. Stroke, heart attacks and blood clots are problems they are faced with during pills usage. Anyway, I found out this happens only to woman who smoke more than 15 cigarettes per day. demulen is just one of many different brand names for the same pill, which contain estrogen and progesterone. Side effects are possible, and list is quite long. However, not each woman is going to have problems caused by pill, or Demulen, but anyone who notice any side effect, should report this to the doctor. Abdominal cramps, acne, appetite changes, bladder infection, bleeding in spots during a menstrual period, breast tenderness or enlargement, and cancer of the reproductive organs, are some of possible side effects for Demulen.
