| I was on Depo for over four years. I gained over 50 pounds and did not eat like a horse. When I quit taking the shot I lost all this weight and my libido came back. I wish modern medicine would devote as much time to women's health as it seems to do with men and their Viagra issues! |

| I gained almost 50 pounds and am not a heavy eater plus lost my libido. Once I quit taking it (two years ago), I lost the weight and my libido is back. If modern science would devote as much time to women's health as they do to men and their Viagra issues we would have better alternatives out there. |

| I just got off the depo after only one shot. My biggest prob was i had a period almost the hole time. After i let the shot ware off i had very bad joint pains in my knees and hips. My back hurts alot and im haven problems with my stomach being upset like i want to get sick all the time. I havent been so uncomfortable in my life even when i was pregnant. |

| i gotten my depo 1st depo shot may 07 and my second august 07 my 1st shot i bleed constantly non stop and had lower back pain and abdominal pain i dont like the shot and this is going to be the last time i get it i am always tired and sore and before i got my depo i was perfectly fine... my second shot was not as bad but now im starting to vomit for some odd reason and im not sick and i am not pregnant so i know it is the depo i would not recommend this shot to anyone and it dosnt even stop bleeding because i have been on my period since i got my first shot in may 07 that's a lot of tampons well this is my suggestion dont get depo vera .... lisa |

| I started taking the shot May 07 and I took another one on Aug 07, the first shot I did ok, then since the second shot I have been bleeding non stop, its been almost 3 months and I'm still bleeding, I have been feeling so tired and hurting in my lower stomach and in my legs, I would not recommend the shot to anyone. I am not going back for anymore shots, I'm going to let my system get back to normal and I'm going back on the ortho pill. |

| Okay, so these comments have been extremely helpful. I had my first shot of Depo Vera at the end of July '07. Its now Oct '07, I only had my first shot, but I have been bleeding ever since I got the stupid shot. I'm also having frequent migraines lately, and am definitely considering NOT continuing this shot anymore. I haven't experience weight gain, thank God, but I have been losing a lot of hair, and the headaches are a killer. I got this shot a month after my second son was born, he is now 4 months. I would rather go with abstinence than to have this in my system. |

PLEASE DO NOT GO ON DEPO VERA. I went on it and I have been bleeding for 2 months straight. My mood swings are INSANE- I get completely depressed one minute and the next angry or back to normal. I havent gained weight but I have gotten cystic zits on my back and on my head. It has been pure hell- I DO NOT recommend this to anyone. No birth control is worth it. |

 I was on depo for 2 year went off for about 3 months all was good then went back on for two shots havent had a shot for 4 months no period, lots of weigh gain, bad back and legs pains,my guts hurt and my bobs hurt feal like im pregnat but im not dont do depo shot i think its dangerious for us. im am scared i screwed up my self oh and thyroid problems,tired all the time 3years ago i was very active, my labido is out of wack god this sucks |

i have desided to go off depo..my last shot was due the beginning of this month (Feb).. I have been on the Depo since around 2001.. i had no idea it was this bad for me..is there anything i should be worried about.. and around how long do u think it will take me before i get a period again.. an how long should it last..? |
