Hi to all, i have been reading over you comments and i cant believe how bad this depo injection is.
I had the depo injection over 3 years ago and apart from it taking 15 months before i became pg after coming off it, i was fine on it no side affects at all so i decieded to go back on the depo has i dont want any more children i thought it be ok for me to go back on the depo has it was ok for me before, i had it done on friday (10 oct) and today saturday (11 oct) i woke up with pain and muscle ache in my right leg the same side that i had the injection in and midday i started getting belly pains, from reading the post i can see that belly pains are a side affect but has anyone had the same thing with there legs?
I cant believe that my doctor didnt give me any leaflets about this injection all because i had it done before.
IF ANY WOMAN-YOUNG LADY IS THINKING OF HAVING THIS INJECTION PLEASE DONT |

I have been on it for 4 years. I came off it for 6 months. I was suppose to get it at the start of this month (October 2008) but i didnt.
My reasons were:
At first i bled for 2 months straight, then stopped all together, about 3 years later bled heavily again.
Weight gain, i used to be a size 10 (british) now i am a size 22. I used to be a healthy weight, now it is totally uncontrollable. I have tried to loose weight, i never lost the weight, but did get 2 dress sizes smaller, but that was when i was off the injection. Dieting and exercise was how i lost it, i tried even harder once i got to a size 18, but the bloody weight wouldnt shift!
I am tired all the time. Even when ive had enough sleep.
I have bad abdominal pains.
Clotting, but no periods, brown sludge really.
Bad migraines.
Muscle and bone pains in legs, hips, arms/elbow joints and also pain in my jaw.
Really bad boils.
Severe mood swings/depression/paranoia.
Please do not use this, there are more health problems that i havent listed. Please research and listen to people. |

My mother was on the shot for 7 years. The only side affect she said she had was her bones were greatly effected. she now as osteporosis, she was 40 when diganosed and her bones are equivalent to a 70-yr- old bones.
I was thinking about getting on it, but want to know if for short term use, are the side effects severe and does your period completely stop? |

please please please do not ever use that poison again!!!!
i had 3 shots and it messed up my body from my weight, to my mood, i never got any problems with the pill i only went on the depo for a change but i regret it! and i will never use it again! |

Honey, I am a 24 year old female that has been on depo for six months and bleed all the way through all the months. You will not have much energy at all and it is very painful. I have had to be hospitalized 3 times because I was using 12 pads every hour. Now that I am off I am bleeding and have not been able to have sex with my husband for six long months. And that is how long I have been married. Take my advice DO NOT TRY IT. |
