depressed ALS patient

I am having problems with my husband. He is 58 years old and he is a depressed ALS patient. He has been fighting this illness for almost a year now. We know that there is no cure, but still I wonder if there might be a way for me to helm him. Physical therapies are something he is going through every day; but what about his mental state.

Well, I assume that you have been told how much time he has left. It is really hard to understand the fact that you will not live foe couple of decades more, that you have only several years left. That is why he is in depression now, even if he denies that. Just as there are physical therapies, there are also therapies that could help him deal with his psychic state. And perhaps those are even more important for maintaining the normal way of life.
