Hello. I'm 45 year old male and I would like hear more about some detoxication program for Oxycontin!
About three years ago I was found with mild disc herniation and doctor told that no operation was needed at that time.
So I started to use this pain killer called Oxycontin and I couldn’t dream that I will become addicted on it. Now, I can live through one day without my pill and bit by bit- I'm starting to realize that this has become a major problem for me. So, I'm interested to find out more about some detox program for this drug!
Thanks!

Hello. I have just read your post and decided to help you. I really don’t understand how your doctor didn’t tell you that worst side effect of this drug- addiction.
Don’t get me wrong- this is very good drug but the user's body adapts and develops a tolerance for the Oxycontin.
What you shouldn’t do is to try leaving it by your self without any medicamentous help. The most common symptoms of withdrawal are heart palpitations, joints and muscles in constant pain, vomiting, nausea and uncontrollable coughing. There are specially designed programs for detoxication in which the individual is stepped down slowly off their dose of Oxycontin until they no longer physically need to take it. Of course, all this must be under close supervision of your doctor!
